Security though obscurity is no security at all.
You have the right to photograph anyone or anything from public property, if I can see it from the street, I have the right! I have often thought that if I went out with a sketchpad and a pencil no one would one would bat an eye.
This is just another example of the global counter-insurgency action against the population. I can and will photograph or video anyone while they in public, they have no expectation of privacy or any other such nonsense.
If you can see it from a public location you can photograph it, end of story!
So everyone take more pictures especially of the police in action in public.
Only coackroaches scuttle away when the lights come on.

Police Chief Jim McDonnell has confirmed that detaining photographers for taking pictures "with no apparent esthetic value" is within Long Beach Police Department policy.
